I’m no where near finished with this yet but thought I would post what I’ve put together so far and get some feedback.

I do not pretend to be a designer =)

The basic idea of the layout was to imitate my own work environment here at home, using visual elements I am around all the time and know best. The main window is a BBEdit document window, the right side is composed of 2 Stickies notes and an ichat window (which will be used for others to leave quick comments).

I’m trying to figure out a nice way of formatting the middle column at the moment where I don’t abandon this notion that I’m imitating a plain text document. Individual posts are allowed to have image/video content in them, but the format of the post itself should not standardize on such elements. Also, the mini icons along the top and right side are place holders for something i intend to put there later. The images below are in a progression, the last being the newest.
